History

For many years, supporters of Evansville Lutheran School considered ways to provide long term support for the school. In November of 2007, $100,000.00 was given to the school to establish a Foundation that would provide income to the school through perpetuity. With the receipt of this lead gift, a giant step was taken in providing for the future financial stability of our school.

The exciting news of the Foundation spread rapidly among the many supporters and alumni and additional gifts quickly brought the Foundation asset total to $110,000. Directors for the Foundation were named and after several months the Evansville Lutheran School Foundation was incorporated and recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) corporation. With this designation, all gifts made to the Evansville Lutheran School Foundation are tax-deductible.

Since that time, many generous individuals have made an investment in the future of Evansville Lutheran School with their gifts to the ELS Foundation. Please see our annual reports for further detail and to see how the Lord is blessing our mission!

Many years ago, members of our congregations gave generously to build and sustain Evansville Lutheran School. I am grateful to them for providing this school that was such a blessing for my sons. Now I am very excited to be a part of this new vehicle that has the means for sustainable stewardship of gifts. This is a wonderful opportunity to give back to the school and help ensure that Evansville Lutheran School will continue to bless future generations. I encourage everyone to join us in this exciting undertaking.
